Nature Sound Walks

Our Nature Walk Series Albums

I pioneered a way to bring you life-like nature sounds from the most remote trails filled with the sounds of nature. It is like taking a hike and enjoying the sounds along the way. There are no footsteps heard, no talking, just the sounds of nature. It is like taking a magic carpet ride down trails and hearing the sounds change as time passes.

This is exclusively only available from Natureguy Studio. I am the only one doing this, that I know of. Why isn't anyone else doing this? It is a lot of hard work. I walk for hours and hours recording for just one track. It's exhausting and the weather has to be perfect, with almost no wind. It takes a long time to edit as well. I engineered just the right way to splice all the recordings together to make it sound like a seamless walk along a trail. I worked at the technique for a couple of years to get it to sound right, and I continue to tweak the techniques.

Why did come up with the idea? Well, when you edit sounds as long as I have, you notice something. Playing the tracts over and over, you start hearing the same pattern over and over and it can tend to get boring sounding. I noticed that my recordings of morning choruses of birds were more enjoyable to listen to because as time passes, different birds start singing as others fade away. So, how do you record something that sounds like a morning chorus? Walk to change locations. A sad note here is, that since birds are declining in numbers every year, I no longer can record the beautifully rich bird choruses that I once did years ago. Walking to change locations allows me to find better "pockets" of rich sounds. The resulting recorded track is very enjoyable listen to.

The Advantages of Walk Series

The biggest reason to listen to the Walk Series Albums is that I feel they are the most enjoyable nature sound recording ever produced. Yes, that is saying a lot. There are some really good artists out there that have a ton of really good recordings from stationary locations. The difference to me, as a professional who has been recording nature sounds for over 20 years, is that the movement of walking down a trail and hearing different sounds creates a engaging track to listen to and it keeps you wanting to hear what is further down the trail. It never gets boring. I find you can listen to one track over and over and never get that feeling like you are hearing the same, repeating sound forever.

Are there sounds that sound great without taking a hike? Yes. There still is a place for static recording locations. Sounds from water, thunderstorms, morning choruses, beside wetlands listening to frogs, crickets in a field, etc.

Listen to some samples and try some of the Walk Series Albums. I think you will find them very enjoyable to listen to.
